Thank you for making contact. We know Efren and heard the story of the loss of your daughter. I view the loved ones of burn survivors and burn victims as burn survivors. To me, anyone who's life has been impacted, but not ended, by fire or burns is a burn survivor and should be welcomed and embraced by our community. If we can be helpful in any way, please let us know.
My son and my step-son, were in the house when I was burned. The moment I knew my step-son was in danger (I heard him scream) is still frozen in my mind. While I can't know your experience, as a father that memory is a window to the magnitude of your loss. You are always welcome at our meetings should you be in a position to attend. There are a few Vermont burn survivors in our network, and some of us (my wife and I included) travel that way from time to time. I'm a big fan of the Long Trail.
