In my dealings with a lot of people concerning different burn organizations, I find that there is quite a bit of confusion. Our organization is Burn Survivors of New England (BSONE). We are a New England based organization whose main mission is to send our constituency (New Englanders :-)) to Phoenix World Burn Congress (PWBC). If you get a solicitation from any other burn organization, and respond, that money is not designated for New England PWBC scholarships. BSONE, separate and apart from any other organization, raises funds for those scholarships through two fundraising events each year -- Our Annual Dinner/Dance in the spring and our Walk for Advocacy and Awareness in the fall. Our goal is to send every person/family that applies for a scholarship to PWBC which is in Grand Rapids, MI Sept 2018. Last year we sent 30 people to Dallas, Texas (air fare, hotel and registration) so you can imagine that every dollar that is raised/contributed at our events is needed. BSONE is a strictly volunteer organization with no salaries or overhead except for supplies and equipment to use in our fundraising efforts.
We hope you will support us by attending our events and maybe have a LOT of fun to boot :-)
