Empowering Burn Survivors and Families
Burn Survivors of New England (BSONE), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is proud to offer partial and full scholarships to attend the 2025 Phoenix World Burn Congress (WBC)—the world’s largest gathering for burn survivors, families, and professionals. This transformative event fosters healing, connection, and empowerment through shared experiences, workshops, and peer support.
If you are a burn survivor or caregiver who resides in New England, this scholarship would help you take the next step in your recovery journey.
Scholarship Details: Who Can Apply
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be a burn survivor, parent of a burn survivor, or family member/caregiver actively involved in the survivor's recovery. First-time attendees will be given preference.

Reside in New England (scholarships are not available to applicants outside New England or the U.S.).

Have been treated overnight in a burn center.

Be 18 years of age or older.
Additional notes:

A REAL ID and credit/debit card are required to apply (used for hotel incidentals not covered by the scholarship).

Caregivers accompanying burn survivors must complete their own application and meet all eligibility requirements.
Scholarship Packages
Full Scholarship Package

Flight: Round-trip airfare to/from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport (CVG).

Hotel: Three -night stay at a nearby hotel.

Registration: Early bird registration for the Phoenix WBC
Partial Scholarship Package

Registration only: Early bird conference registration (Travel, lodging, and incidental expenses are not included) .
Application Requirements
To apply, applicants must:

Complete the BSONE Scholarship Application form (downloadable below).

Submit all required documentation, including:
-
Copy of a valid REAL ID.
-
Doctor’s clearance for travel (if the burn injury occurred within the last two years or physical therapy is ongoing).

Article submission (first time and returning attendees): A 125-250 word reflection. See article submission guide.

Signed consent and liability waivers.

Ensure all caregivers traveling with a recipient submit their own application
