Navigating Life After Burns

At Burn Survivors of New England, we understand that the journey of recovery extends far beyond the hospital. In the early stages, care is focused on managing wounds, overcoming physical pain, and preparing to go home. However, once discharged, burn survivors, their loved ones, and families still have many questions—questions that are difficult to process while in the hospital. This is where the strength of our community comes in.

Our organization connects burn survivors, their loved ones, and caregivers with others who have walked a similar path. Our one-on-one and group burn support discussions provide a space to discuss the challenges that arise after discharge. Volunteer mentors, who are burn survivors now five, ten, or even twenty years out from their injury, share their lived experiences, and in doing so, provide valuable guidance and support as you begin to navigate your path to recovery.
